Who is MeVsTheBulge?
Sup?! Welcome to my Blog!
I started this blog back in February 2010 for 2 reasons – 1. I was insanely jealous of a friends witty blog and 2. To help motivate me and keep me on track with my goals.
My name’s Amanda, pleasure to meet you! I’m 28 years old and from Sydney, Australia. I’m married and have 2 crazy dogs and enjoy nothing more than having a laugh and listening to LOUD hip hop music.
I struggled for a long time to lose weight and after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS for short) and mild insulin resistance I decided to get serious and lose the weight for GOOD. This blog documents how I did so as well as chronicles my new improved and healthier lifestyle.
Disclaimer: I am not a dietitian, nutritionist or in the fitness industry (although I am currently studying to be a Personal Trainer). All opinions are my own and are based on what I have found works for me or have otherwise been researched thoroughly.

Thanks for sending your comments it’s good to hear from others struggling with weight problems. My barriers are menopause and hypothyroidism. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you progress.
It definitely makes it harder when hormones get in the way of goals but my motto is just keep going! I won’t let anything stand in my way of the body I want, the fitness level I want to achieve and the standard of health I want to maintain! Thanks for the comment.

Just kidding. I just find it so inspiring to “meet” other women with PCOS and struggling to lose weight and manage their insulin resistance. CONGRATS on your weight loss — that is amazing! I can’t wait to read more and swap tips!
Hey! Thanks for commenting back!! I love what you’re doing with your blog and may have to add it to my blog roll!
I’m getting my insulin tested again soon and hopefully it’s at a better level. Will share when I get results back!

Hey Fiona! Thanks for commenting!
Wow, you’re doing so well! Well done! My weight loss is excruciatingly slow but I know I’m getting there and I’m enjoying the journey. It’s all about learning to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. I’ve overcome so many hurdles but I think I’m finally on the right path.
very inspirational
You Rock!
Oh Norbit! :-p
Amanda I don’t think that I have told you how close our story’s are. I have PCOS and I have a mild insulin resistance problem. I have had problems for years. I also have other female medical problems which I have had more then a few surgery’s for. I loved reading your blog and have to say you have a gift with words.
Thank you gottolose! I recently got my insulin resistance under control via exercise and diet and it was one of the best pieces of news I ever received! Having PCOS has still been a battle to deal with weight wise, but slowly slowly… I’ll get there! And you will too.
You are such a pretty girl! I am eternally battling with my weight. It’s a battle made up of many small victories and a few defeats. It’s one step at a time. xo
Oh thank you so much! *blush*
I know how you feel – you just have to stick it out. Don’t let yourself be your own worst enemy – prove to yourself what you can do and the real you will shine!
After reading your blog I can’t believe you would describe what you have accomplished as a small victory! You are my new hero. x
Good luck! Loved reading your backstory – very inspirational!
